Welcome to the affordable adventurist! Join me on my quest to have (relative) financial freedom while having as many adventures along the way (originally this blog was started with the goal of achieving financial freedom before 25, and I am now officially post-25. I have not achieved full financial freedom, especially now that I’ve added many life expenses e.g., children! Dog! A house in the most expensive city in the US!, but the essence of our life values has stayed the same: eventual financial freedom, with focus on adventures and experiences over material goods). Here you will find my budget travel posts, getaways around the city, and some tips on how to live somewhat affordably in one of the most expensive cities in the world while still having as much fun as possible.
I currently live in the suburbs of New York City with my husband, our mini goldendoodle, and our two toddlers (this sentence has evolved from: New York City with my boyfriend in our tiny UES apartment, to Boston with my PhD husband, and now back to the NYC metro area).
This blog is now less “affordable” and more “convenient” now that we are traveling with kids, but we still try to live frugally as much as possible so that we can still have travel adventures with our growing little family!
